Step into the glow of summer with Luminous Rest—a seasonal offering that invites you to slow down, soften, and reconnect.
We’ll begin with a soft, all-levels yoga flow designed to ground and gently energize the body. Props such as blocks and blankets will be provided to support all bodies and experience levels.
After a short break, you’ll be guided into Yoga Nidra, a restful, meditative journey intended to awaken your inner light and bring the body into deep relaxation. This session is crafted to reflect the spaciousness and energy of the Summer Solstice—helping you feel clear, connected, and restored.
Whether you're looking to honor the season, find inner stillness, or simply recharge, this practice offers a moment to pause, breathe, and receive. Show up as your authentic self in a safe, welcoming space for all to move and unwind. Nourish your whole self with this robust practice for body and soul.
This workshop is led by Katie Innes, E-RYT200, a Tucson-based yoga teacher who holds certifications in Pranayama, Yin, and mindfulness coaching. Katie is known for her accessible, heart-centered classes and her ability to create grounding, inclusive spaces for all levels.
Yoga Nidra, or yogic sleep, is a guided meditation technique that induces a deep state of relaxation while maintaining consciousness. It leverages principles of neurobiology and psychology to reduce stress and promote healing. During Yoga Nidra, the body experiences profound rest, activating the parasympathetic nervous system, which counteracts the effects of stress and anxiety. This state of deep relaxation allows the brain to shift from high-frequency beta waves to slower alpha and theta waves, facilitating emotional and mental rejuvenation. Research shows that Yoga Nidra can improve sleep quality, enhance cognitive function, and support overall well-being. By guiding practitioners through systematic relaxation and visualization, Yoga Nidra helps integrate and release stored tension, fostering a balanced and restorative state of mind and body.
